‘Outstanding and innovative Personal Development Plan’ – European Commission

Last year we joined forces with the Prinses Maxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie in Utrecht, The Netherlands (Princess Maxima Centre for Pediatric Oncology) to contribute to the creation of a new ETN proposal. Recently, end of May of this year we have been awarded with EU funding.

The project is funded by the EU H2020 research and innovation program under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie ITN actions. The VAGABOND educational training network, led by Dr Jan Molenaar from the Prinses Máxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie, consists of 12 academic and 6 non-academic partners from 8 European countries. It aims to create a multidisciplinary and multisectoral program to validate new therapeutic interventions in pediatric cancer. This network will be embedded in the ITCC Consortium. VAGABOND will focus on 15 cutting-edge research projects studying molecular, epigenetic and immunological targets. This consortium will stimulate international education and multi-disciplinary exchange of expertise in the different steps of pre-clinical drug development.

In this program we are the proud partner of the VAGABOND consortium with our BEYONDU personal development plan which guides early stage researchers, PHD candidates, during the next three years to become resilient and confident leaders of the future.

The Evaluation Summary Report of the European Commission included special focus and feedback on the BeyondU PDP: “Outstanding and Innovative Personal Development Program is planned.’
