These are guidelines how you can master your mind, rather than letting it master you.
Step 1. Acknowledge your thoughts. Listen to the language of your mind. When your mind feels heard and understood it will rest and relax. Like people, also your mind wants your attention.
Step 2. Accept your thoughts. Maybe you do not like your negative or repeating thoughts but they are there. So you better accept your thoughts and continue with your work and life.
Step 3. Realize your thoughts are just your thoughts. Your thoughts are mental events taking place in your mind. It has nothing to do with who you are! You áre not your thoughts.
Step 4. Guide your mind to the present moment. You can call it mindfulness. It is a practise of noticing your thoughts without analysing nor judging nor attaching your mind to them.
Step 5. Train your mind to reset your brain. You are what you think. Repeating positive thoughts and actions can influence the established patterns of negativity in your brain.
Step 6. Practice of self-compassion. You can change the way how you respond to your thoughts. Self-compassion brings you closer to your true self and it will boost your resilience and self-confidence.
Your thoughts are like mental habits. And like any habit it can be healthy or unhealthy. And also like other habits it takes time to change. You need to train your mind to become the master of your mind. Like training for a marathon or for an exam at university. It takes 21 days to train your mind to acknowledge and accept your thoughts and not let your thoughts master your life.
Thoughts are things. They are powerful. Very powerful. The thoughts running through your mind can help to manifest the life of your dreams or draw you closer to your greatest fears. The power of your mind is part of the creative power of the universe, which means that your thoughts work together with it. The best proof you can have that this works is by using mental exercises like meditation and mindfulness to make changes in your life!
You don’t need any experience. Everybody can do it, so do you!
