Conscious leaders inspire change in the 21st-century

Understanding people and creating connections, including with ourselves, is one of the most important new aspects of life. As technology increases significantly, we must focus more than ever on sharpening new human-skills. Conscious leaders are able to create connections, respond mindfully to life-situations and are (self-) compassionate. The sooner we embrace uniting human-skills with technical professional-skills, the sooner people will be empowered to prosper in the rapidly changing 21stcentury economy.

We are living in a revolution where digital information and communication has the potential to automate millions of jobs across many sectors. This change triggers a transformation of the entire economy, leading to the digital age and a network society. In the wake of these changes, the skills we as humans require are rapidly changing. Technology can automate repetitive tasks, but it’s much harder for artificial intelligence to compete against humans in roles that require social finesse and emotional intelligence.

(Re-)Connect people, teams and generations

Conscious leaders can be found in any position of your organization. This are the change-makers in 21st-century organizations. A conscious leader  (re-)connects people, teams and generations. Creating a connection, including with ourselves, is one of the most important new aspects of life. Conscious leaders understand the impact of connecting with self and with the people around them (family, friends, team members, clients, partners, stakeholders etc). Resulting in all-new levels of performance, productivity and personal satisfaction. Resulting in responsible leadership and sustainable friendships and alliances.

From competition, comparison and complaining in the workplace to working and living conscious, with compassion and connected with yourself and the people around you. A solution for the top three challenges of the 21st century; 1. People lack a sense of fulfilment and wholeness. 2. Constant distractions, changes and new crises. 3. Role of humans with the rise of technology.

As a leader you are expected to take a myriad of decisions, usually under time pressure, without the opportunity to read and digest the overload of information available. If the information is even available at all. How do you make the decision that best benefits your company and your communities? The next frontier of human potential is the development of our intuition.

We all recognize that ‘gut feeling’ whether something is right or wrong. Our intuition is our brain combining our past experiences and knowledge with external cues. Intuition tends to get triggered when you’re under severe time pressure, in a situation of acute danger or being faced by information overload. But you don’t have to wait until you face one of these situations to tap into your ‘gut feeling’. You can train your brain.

‘I wanted to be happier and more satisfied with all I have achieved in life. Ingrid guided me towards leading with more compassion.’

- Annetje Ottow | Professor & President

When was the last time you checked-out of your daily working routine to reflect with yourself, your team, and your channel partners whether you’re still on the right track? When did you last listen, without asking questions, to whether your employees and clients feel happy and healthy with the support your company provides them to be successful and meaningful?

We encourage regularly taking time off for reflection and to develop the new 21stcentury human skill – compassion. Time off expands your self-knowledge, making it essential for feeling compassion for both yourself and the people around you. Reflection helps identify the first signs of exhaustion or detachment in yourself and in your communities. And thus, can help prevent a burn-out. Take time off by yourself and with your communities (your management teams, your employees and your clients) at least once a year. For reflection, developing compassion for yourself and the people around you.
